How to wash your wig

by WolfkingHair

Much attention has been paid to how wigs can be cleaned and treated to make them healthier and last longer. In the following article, explain the process of cleaning and maintaining your wig in detail.

Step 1: Preparation before cleaning.

Brush the wig from the end. Use a wide-toothed comb or fingers to gently comb through any tangles. It's best to start at the top of your hair. Make your hair really smooth before you wash it.

Step 2: Rinse.

If your wig is not too long, you can wash it directly under the tap. Be careful not to use too hot water. Simply wet the wig completely with cold or warm water. If your wig is very long, it is recommended to shower directly to prevent hair from falling into the water. After rinsing and moistening thoroughly, gently remove excess water with your hands. Be sure to operate slowly and do not twist the wig.

Step 3: Shampoo.

Squeeze out just enough shampoo on your hands and gently rub your hair in order from roots to ends. Try not to let the shampoo come into direct contact with the lace net. It's also important not to wash your hair too hard and you should avoid scrubbing or rubbing your hair as this can damage the strands. Turning the wig inside out while you wash it makes it easier for the shampoo to get to the top of the wig, where most of the dirt, sweat and grease gather. Once the wig is fully rubbed, rinse it with water, starting with cold water from the roots down to the bottom of the hair. After rinsing off the shampoo, the water will become clear. At this point you can gently blot your hair dry with a towel before applying the conditioner.

Step 4: Use conditioner.

Drip some conditioner into your hair and then gently comb and rub with your fingers. Follow the conditioner instructions and use it according to the instructions. As soon as the recommended length of conditioner is over, rinse it in cold water from the top of the wig to the ends of the hair, making sure to rinse off all the conditioner before drying the hair.

Step 5: Blow-dry the wig.

Blot it dry with a towel and leave it on a wig rack to dry. Avoid using a high-heat hair dryer until the lace wig is completely dry. Once the wet hair is out of the way, you can wear your wig as usual.
